THREAD OF BELONGING

This illustration project is inspired by the lived experiences, cultural identities, and visual traditions of minority communities in the Americas. Through hand-drawn figures, layered textiles, and symbolic details, the artworks reflect stories of heritage, resilience, and belonging. Traditional garments, patterns, and body adornments are reinterpreted as visual narratives rather than historical records, allowing each illustration to honor cultural memory while existing in a contemporary artistic language. The project emphasizes representation and respect, using illustration as a medium to celebrate diversity, individuality, and the enduring presence of minority cultures within modern society.
