MY JOURNEY
My journey in fashion is shaped by curiosity, care, and continuous learning. From studying fashion design at Parsons School of Design in New York City to exploring both traditional craftsmanship and digital techniques, my work reflects an evolving dialogue between culture, form, and intention. Each step forward is part of an ongoing exploration rather than a final destination.

ABOUT
LAISIM SOEUNG
Fashion, for me, is a process of observation, care, and translation. I approach design as a way to understand form, structure, and the emotional presence of clothing, allowing each piece to develop through intention rather than speed.
My practice moves between menswear, womenswear, tailoring, couture, and accessories, guided by an interest in how tradition and contemporary life can coexist within a single silhouette. I am especially drawn to detail, proportion, and construction, using these elements to create garments that feel calm, considered, and enduring.
I work across both hands-on craftsmanship and digital tools, including pattern making, technical design, and 3D workflows. Technology plays a supportive role in my process — not to replace making, but to refine it and extend precision. Each project begins with research and reflection, often informed by cultural references, architectural forms, and personal memory.
At the core of my work is a belief that fashion should offer more than appearance. It should provide quiet confidence, respect the body, and carry a sense of emotional safety. My practice continues to evolve as an ongoing dialogue between culture, craft, and contemporary design.

ACHIEVEMENT WITH THE MEXART
MXA
The Mexart Agency - CAMBODIA
I previously worked as a designer at The Mexart Agency, a creative agency focused on community-based projects, fashion events, and cultural storytelling. During my time there, I contributed to high-profile projects, including designing costumes for The Masked Singer Cambodia (Season 1). I was also part of a sustainability-focused initiative for Creal Cambodia, where we created garments made from discarded and recycled materials to raise awareness about environmental protection and responsible fashion. These projects strengthened my experience in conceptual design, costume development, and using fashion as a medium for social and environmental impact.
